Couplers and Tap Cleans

Couplers are the first connection point between the keg and the beer system and therefore hold a special place in the heart of the MODD boys! The taps are the last link and arguably the most important link in the beer chain, before the consumer receives their beer.

The coupler is an important piece of equipment, however is often left sitting around in containers gathering dust and dirt waiting to be used. They are not maintained or given the respect they deserve and then expected to deliver beer on demand when required! There is often an association between poor coupler maintenance and broader issues with the beer system.

If taps are not regularly maintained, they can’t be expected to deliver pint after pint of cold clean and fresh beer, hundreds of times a day! Issues often associated with taps that are not maintained are beer dripping from connection points and problems with pouring that can lead to wastage. If tap connections are not cleaned regularly, it will inevitably lead to bacteria growth and leakage issues.

The MODD quality line cleaning program includes the cleaning and sanitizing of all taps inside and out and cleaning and sanitizing of couplers, including pressure testing of each coupler at each clean.

As a separate service to the beer line cleaning, MODD can arrange a routine maintenance service for your coupler and taps to ensure they are kept in optimal operational condition, and avoid beer wastage through leaking parts, simply because they aren’t maintained.

Do your couplers and taps have any of the following issues?

  • Foaming
  • Dripping snap lock connections
  • Leaking gas or beer snap lock connection points on couplers
  • Issues when connecting couplers to kegs
  • Stiff couplers (when engaging or disengaging from the kegs)
  • Stiff taps
  • Beer not pouring smoothly
  • Dripping taps
  • Broken handles

This is a part of the beer system so often neglected and the MODD boys are passionate about couplers and taps! If you would like us to inject this passion into your business, give the MODD boys a call or email us to get more information on ways we can help.
